Pool opening
STEP 1: Remove leaves and any other solids using a leaf catcher.
STEP 2: Raise the water to its normal level, halfway through the skimmer. Then start the filter in the Filter position.
STEP 3: Check the filter, pump and circulation system. If the sand was not cleaned up last fall, clean up with
Filter Brite®. By cleaning your sand every year, you'll never have to replace it again.
STEP 4: Slowly vacuum to Drain or Waste position to pick up as much trash as possible. Never use the robot to clean the pool in the spring.
STEP 5: Let the pool run in the Filter position for about 12 hours before you start balancing your water. Then adjust the pH to between 7 and 7.4 using the
Tests Strips.
Note: The test strips for your home water tests have a lifespan of about 1 year, so for fair and precise tests, change your bottles every season.
STEP 6 : On the second day, vacuum in the Filter position.
STEP 7: Bring a water sample to the store to the technicians at the laboratory to test your water for FREE in order to give you the correct recipe to balance it. Here are the advantages of balancing the following parameters:
Alkalinity: Blocks the pH of your pool for the entire summer season.
Calcium hardness: Protects your equipment against corrosion and softens the pool water.
The stabilizer: Reduces the consumption of chlorine by about 60%.
Metals: Metals are increasingly present in municipal water. They can be damaging to the skin as well as to your pool equipment.
